Refund Policy Overview
At SK Development Group, we are committed to providing high-quality residential construction and remodeling services. We understand that construction projects involve significant investments, and we strive to ensure complete satisfaction with our work. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued and how disputes are handled.
Initial Deposits
Projects with SK Development Group typically require an initial deposit before work commences. This deposit is used to secure materials, schedule labor, and prepare for your project. Initial deposits are generally:
- Non-refundable once materials have been ordered or labor has been scheduled
- Partially refundable if cancellation occurs before materials are ordered or labor is scheduled, minus a 10% administrative fee
- Fully refundable if SK Development Group cancels the project before work commences
Please refer to your Project Contract for the specific terms related to your deposit.
Progress Payments
Progress payments are made according to the schedule outlined in your Project Contract. These payments cover work already completed and materials already used in your project. As such:
- Progress payments for completed work and used materials are non-refundable
- If a project is terminated, you will only be responsible for the value of work completed and materials used or ordered
- Any overpayment for incomplete work will be refunded within 30 days of project termination
Change Orders
Additional payments made for change orders follow the same refund policies as initial deposits and progress payments:
- Non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has been performed
- Partially refundable if the change order is canceled before work begins, minus costs incurred
All change orders must be documented in writing and signed by both parties to be valid.
Satisfaction Guarantee
SK Development Group stands behind the quality of our workmanship. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our work:
- Notify us in writing within 7 days of completion of the specific phase of work
- Clearly describe the issue and the reason for dissatisfaction
- Allow us reasonable access to inspect and address the issue
We will make every effort to correct any legitimate issues with our workmanship at no additional cost to you. We do not offer refunds for completed work that meets industry standards and contract specifications.
Material Defects
If materials used in your project prove to be defective:
- We will work with the supplier or manufacturer to secure replacement materials
- We will reinstall the replacement materials at no additional labor cost if the defect is identified within the warranty period
- We do not refund the cost of defective materials, as these refunds typically come from the manufacturer
Most materials come with manufacturer warranties, which we will provide to you upon project completion.
Dispute Resolution Process
In the event of a dispute regarding any aspect of our services or refunds:
- Direct Communication: First, we encourage you to contact our office directly at (513) 555-1234 or email info@skdevelopmentgroup.com to discuss your concerns with our customer service team.
- Management Review: If your concerns are not addressed to your satisfaction, you may request a review by our management team. Please submit your request in writing with all relevant details.
- Mediation: If we cannot resolve the dispute through direct communication, both parties agree to participate in mediation with a mutually agreed-upon third-party mediator before pursuing other legal remedies.
- Arbitration/Legal Action: If mediation does not resolve the dispute, either party may pursue arbitration or legal action as outlined in the Terms of Service.
Refund Processing
When a refund is approved:
- Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction when possible
- Processing time for refunds is typically 7-14 business days, depending on your payment method and financial institution
- You will receive written confirmation once the refund has been processed
Warranty Claims
Our workmanship is covered by a one-year warranty as detailed in our Terms of Service. Warranty claims:
- Must be submitted in writing within the warranty period
- Should include detailed description and photos of the issue when possible
- Will be addressed through repair or replacement of the defective work
- Do not typically result in monetary refunds unless repair is not possible
